File Sizes
There are some very large files indexed on Mutoview so it is recommended to use a 3G phone or WiFi enabled phone to download these.

You can restrict you search to files of a certain size by using the syntax sizerange:{0-X} or si:{0-X}.

The following table shows the size ranges:

Size Ranges
Size CodeSize in Kilobytes
0<10
A<256
B<500
C<1000
D<2000
E<3000
F<5000
G<7500
H<10000
I<20000
J<30000
K<50000
L<100000
M<200000
N<300000
O<400000
P<500000
Q<1000000
R<2000000
S<3000000
T<4000000
U<5000000
V<6000000
X6000000+

*note no W; X signifies all huge files (6 gigabyte+)
** 1024KB = 1 Megabyte

So for example you wanted to search for files about 4 megabyte big you'd type si:F along with your query term.

Currently, mobile phones will have difficulty downloading large files but they're there for when future technology is capable.

Update June 2007

In release v1.56 you can simply click a size of "Very Small", "Small", "Medium", "Large", "Very Large" instead of typing the size.

Mutoview Portable - The Phone Software
Mutoview Portable is built using J2ME technology and has been tested on a number of handsets.

It makes use of MMAPI (the media part of J2ME) and has been built to take advantage of the underlining technology, both now and pending improvements in the future. So when the phone's software improves, so does Mutoview Portable.

For example, different phones have different playback format capability. Some phones will play MPEG4 video, some will not. But it is expected that most will in the future - and Mutoview Portable will seamlessly facilitate this with no upgrade required. It's the same with media streaming. Many new Sony Ericsson phones can stream MP4 media but other phones can't - when they do, Mutoview Portable will work alongside the streaming technology.

Almost all MIDP 2.0 devices have MMAPI capability to some degree so if you've got a MIDP 2.0 phone you'll be able to use Mutoview Portable in some form or another.

Here are some phones that support video capture, support audio capture and support image capture.

Importing Media into My Stuff
You can import media into My Stuff by clicking on Options > Import Media > then navigate to your chosen file and click Add.

Some phones support this feature and some don't. If the Import Media option is there then it is supported.
